Konacopia Farm Apprentice Information--2023
You will love the lifestyle and camaraderie on workdays at Konacopia farm, the freedom of activity that farm work offers as well as the opportunity to get your hands dirty while learning how to grow food on this Certified Organic farm. Konacopia Farm is a botanical garden of abundant fruits including coffee, mango, cacao, papaya, bananas, avocado, citrus, soursop, starfruit, breadfruit, jackfruit, pineapple, coconut, mountain apple, cashew, pumalo, figs, ginger, noni and more.
WWOOFers/Apprentices: We look for folks who love the out of doors, simple living and working on the land. Previous farm experience helps.
WWOOFers on Konacopia Farm are 25 years of age or so, and it helps to have some college and a little farming experience. Our WWOOFers are interested in personal health, enthusiastic about learning organic farming, are positive workers, independent, outdoor people who enjoy simple living, who are willing to work for approximately 15 hours per week in exchange for a place to live, to pick seasonal non-commercial fresh fruits, and to develop the apprentice garden. Hours and workdays may increase during harvest season, but so does the fun! Apprentices shop for and cook their own food, and take care of any other personal needs. They have plenty of time to swim, surf and snorkel in Honaunau Bay, Kealakekua Bay, and Kailua Kona beaches nearby and to tour Hawaii Island when not working. We ask for a one-month commitment but prefer 2-3 month stays especially during harvest season. Apprentice housing is two gazebos which is set up like upscale camping on a 12’ x 12’ deck. “The cave” is used for our long-term apprentices living space. The cave and the gazebo each has its own cooking and sleeping facilities and apprentices share the bath house.
